Maureen Burford

Creative Lives Founder and Director Maureen Burford, M.Ed. has spent the past 32 years helping thousands of children and adults improve their lives via the creative and contemplative arts and education. She has taught, lectured, and performed nationally and internationally. Maureen has studied meditation, philosophy with Ellen Tadd for over twenty-one years, including seven years of extensive training and mentoring in Ellen’s Framework for Wise Education, as part of the founding and development of Creative Lives. Her work as Creative Lives Director has included establishing an ongoing afterschool “lab” site in White River Junction, four years of implementation in public and private school residencies, developing numerous community partnerships in the White River Junction area, and creating a graduate-level syllabus and accompanying workbook for educators. As Artistic Director of Revels North from 2006 through 2015, she developed year-round programming, formed a regional afterschool program, and created large-scale productions playing for capacity audiences at Dartmouth College's Spaulding Auditorium. Burford's extensive educational background includes a Master's degree in creative education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Bachelor’s degree in music from Cornell University.
